Two more rallies are a part of MWC history and the Tall Timbers Campground rally and the Seneca County Fairgrounds rally are all but a memory for some of us. August took us to Vacation-land in Port Clinton and allowed many of us to enjoy the islands, a remote control air show at the airport, and to participate in fun and games. A catered potluck and birthday celebration for Ty Kolbe, complete with a cake for dessert, a fancy dinner at the Island House Restaurant, and fun with games highlighted the rally hosted by Ray Taylor and friends. Several MWC members participated in the Ice-Bucket Challenge.
September took us to Tiffin, Ohio and the Seneca County Fairgrounds. Host Larry and Brenda Baker arranged for us to tour the National Machinery Co. in Tiffin, where Larry worked and retired, and the Hayes Center at Spiegel Grove in Fremont. A tour of the Hayes Homestead and museum were a part of the visit. At the September rally, Don and Deb Sekorky new members from Seville, Ohio, joined with us for their first MWC rally. A catered ribs and chicken dinner, with fresh corn, cooked by Ray Taylor, (guaranteed to be silkless), was enjoyed by all. Fresh peach pies cooked over the fire were a tasty evening snack thanks to Cheryl Bowen and Paul Fish.
Our Secretary, Martha, fell at her sister’s and broke her arm and shattered her wrist. Marilyn Kerik filled in for her at the meeting. Jack’s surgery was completed in Nashville, TN and they are monitoring him for leg swelling before being able to be released for home. Election of officers was conducted at the September meeting and the Nominating Committee presented the following slate of candidates:
For: President – Mr. Ken Kerik
Vice-President – Mrs. Terrye Kolbe
Secretary – Mrs. Martha Boice
Treasurer – Mr. Doug Erman
